Dead space 4

Why there is no Dead space 4?

When examining the significant games of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 era, few franchises had the same impact as Visceral Games' "Dead space." As an incredibly terrifying horror title, the series gradually transformed into something more focused on action as the game's publisher attempted to broaden its appeal. This shift in direction reached its peak in the third installment, which resulted in a significant loss of interest from fans. Since then, there hasn't been much news about the "Dead space" series.

There has been limited news about the "Dead space 4" series since then, but enthusiasts would undoubtedly welcome a fourth entry that returns players to the role of the protagonist, Isaac Clarke. This installment would recapture the essence of the original game, offering a dark and claustrophobic space-horror experience. Alternatively, a complete reboot of the franchise could present an intriguing possibility for revitalizing the series while introducing fresh ideas and narratives.

Dead Space 4 Possible Storyline *Spoilers For Other Dead Spaces Probably*

It's been a years since Dead Space 3 was released, and even though it received "meh" reviews as well as not hitting its 'five million sold' target. Things don't look pretty good for Dead Space 4, even though Visceral said that they'd like to come back to it again. The reason why people didn't enjoy Dead Space 3 compared to its predecessors was due to it being more action-packed and less horror-based. To be honest, I didn't mind Dead Space 3. I still have a love for the franchise.

In a way, I feel as though Dead Space 3 kind of closed the door on the Dead Space franchise, especially with its "Awakened" DLC. If you're unsure with how Dead Space 3 had ended. Isaac & Carver basically take down the Brethren Moon, which is currently in the middle of Convergence over Tau Volantis. The Moon is killed, with it and our protagonists falling back down to the planet. The game ends with Ellie, who is safe on board a ship currently orbiting the planet, discovering that the Marker signal has stopped. But if you stopped around to the very end of the game, after the credits, you can here Isaac speak to Ellie over the radio. It is safe to assume that Issac is alive. Now, you'd probably want to know what the idea for Dead Space 4 should be instead of me just going on about a game that came out like three years ago. The "Awakened" DLC confirmed that Isaac & Carver were still alive, and that they somehow survived the event that had taken place with the Brethren Moon. Even they don't understand how they survived, with Issac contemplating whether or not they are actually dead and are now, Necromorphs. Anyway, they grab one of the "Sovereign Colonies" ships and attempt to head back to Earth. You'd honestly think that they'd return home and be greeted with celebrations, with what they've been through, but you'd be wrong. As when they return, the Brethren Moons had already reached Earth. What I meant before, by "closing the door" on the Dead Space franchise, comes from this moment. It is pretty much assumed that everyone on Earth, as well as the Lunar Colonies, is now a Necromorph as Convergence has already begun. Now unless there is some kind of Earth Gov fleet orbiting Earth re to attack, the chances of survival are pretty sma Especially considering that Earth Gov are pretty much gone thanks to The Circle.

Earth is pretty much done at this point. Isaac & Carver can't do anything apart from watch as the Brethren Moons move into their sight, with an additional Moon popping up in front of their ship. Which ultimately ends with Isaac & Carver being knocked unconscious. Unless Visceral pull some kind of "it was all an hallucination" act on us. The chances of a Dead Space 4, from what has already happened in Dead Space 3, seem pretty small. That's what I believe.

Anyway, I don't know if this counts as a Theory or just an idea. But I believe that Dead Space 4 should essentially be a prequel of Dead Space. With Dead Space 3 ending how it does. To end on something as depressing as the "Awakened" DLC isn't really something Dead Space is new to, as this entire franchise is centered around people dying. But yeah, back to Dead Space 4. By reading up on the Dead Space novels, and especially that of Dead Space: Martyr. A prequel story wouldn't be all that different from what has already happened. "Martyr" essentially covers the event of the "Black Marker" and the origin of the "Church Of Unitology". The "Black Marker" has been mentioned many times in previous games, especially in Dead Space 2. Dead Space 4 would be centered around the finding of the Black Marker. Similar to every other Dead Space, a Marker outbreak happens in a particular environment. Dead Space - Ishimura, Dead Space 2 - Sprawl / Titan Station & Dead Space 3- Sovereign Colonies ships / Tau Volantis. It was the DredgerCorp company that had first unearthe the Black Marker, and had ultimately ended with their facility being overrun by the Marker infection... "Martyr" is also focused around Michael Altman, the central figure of the "Church".

Having Dead Space 4 be a prequel, and that of the Black Marker, can provide some more insight as to how the Black Marker was found on Earth. As well as how SPOILER it was to be later destroyed. Another way that a prequel can be a good idea for Dead Space 4 would be that it can show us the first Aegis VII incident, which had occurred from the Black Marker being reverse-engineered and formed into the Red Marker. Much like every other Dead Space game, an outbreak was to spread on Aegis VII. With it ultimately ending with the Red Marker being buried within the planet, and being labelled as a prohibited zone. This would connect to Dead Space perfectly, as where Dead Space 4 ends would be were Dead Space begins. Having the USG Ishimura arrive at the Aegis VII on a "mining" mission. Where it was ultimately used to retrieve the Red Marker from the "Colony".

Isaac Clarke has most certainly been through a lot, with him having to fight off Necromorphs for the first time on the Ishimura. Doing it again for the second time on the Sprawl whilst also battling Dementia. And having to fight them again for a third time on Tau Volantis in the final attempt to stop the Markers. I really like Isaac. But give the guy a break. Being a prequel, the protagonist for Dead Space 4 could be someone new, not mentioned in the "Martyr". Or it could be Michael Altman. Seeing as though this entire novel is based around him, the character would play Altman in an attempt to stop the first Marker outbreak. Ending with him dying, and later on having his idea form the "Church Of Unitology" Of course, Altman was already dead before the Aegis VII incident. So you'd probably have to cha. the protagonist from then.

That's pretty much it. I had this on my mind for a while now, and I'd thought I'd just bring it up on here. If you have read this entire post, I appreciate it very much. And I'm happy to receive feedback. So yeah....thanks.

Conclusion - Dead Space 4 would be a prequel to Dead Space, being centered around Dead Space 'Martyr' and of the first contact with the Black Marker, Michael Altman & the origin of the "Church Of Unitology". Later on leading to the first Aegis VII incident.
